Greetings from Lori Chrisman Hockett

Dear Friends,

I am thankful for the privilege to have served as Judge of the 255th Family Court in Dallas County for the past eight years. I have enjoyed working closely with the attorneys and other professionals in family law who dedicate their careers to helping the families of our county.

I’m looking forward to beginning the next phase of my career in 2015 and want you to be aware of my plans. I’m joining the firm of Underwood Perkins, P.C., which is a full service firm that includes a family law section. As “Of Counsel” to the firm, I will be available for consultations such as pre-litigation and complex property and custody issues. I will return to the practice of collaborative law as well.

In addition to joining Underwood Perkins, I’m also excited to launch Hockett Mediation. Effective January 1, I’ll be available to mediate family law cases. My background as an assistant district attorney in Dallas and then as a practicing family attorney with training in collaborative law, my Board Certification in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1996, and my experience serving on the bench for the past eight years all combine to give me a very unique perspective. I can assure you that I have the tools and the experience to help families resolve complex, emotionally charged issues.

Finally, I will sit by assignment as a visiting judge in outlying counties. I’m thankful for the opportunity to continue my service in this capacity.

Thank you for your support over the past eight years as I served as Judge of the 255th Family Court. I truly treasure all of the friendships and relationships that we developed. I’m looking forward to this coming year with great anticipation, and hope to work with each of you in 2015 and beyond on a more personal level.

Sincerely,
